Tsuyama Castle
(Kakuzan Park)
Tsuyama Castle is one of Japan’s three great flatland-mountain castles and is famous for cherry blossoms, having also been chosen in the “100 Places in Japan that are Famous for Cherry Blossoms.” The Bicchu-Yagura turret on the southeast side of the castle tower has been restored and is open to the public.
In early summer, you can revel in the scenery of Genji fireflies (Luciola cruciata) and Heike fireflies (Luciola lateralis) dancing wildly in the air.
The best time to visit them is in spring during the rice-planting period or the harvesting period, which is August–September. Please enjoy Japan’s rural landscape.
You can see this view early in the morning from late autumn to winter.

The Giant Automaton Clock
A giant automaton clock with a height of 7.9 m and a width of 4.3 m.
Between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm, the upper part of the clock opens up for 4 minutes every time the clock reaches a new hour, and a giant monument appears.

You can enjoy glassblowing experiences at the workshop conducted by Tsunehide Okamoto, an artist from Yunogo.
You can experience making adorable tiny items from 100% deerskin leather from Mimasaka-shi, such as coin purses and straps.
You can enjoy making accessories such as original straps, necklaces, bracelets, and keychains using natural rock.
