Tsuyama Castle Kakuzan Park

Tsuyama Castle is one of Japan’s three great flatland-mountain castles and is famous for cherry blossoms, having also been chosen in the “100 Places in Japan that are Famous for Cherry Blossoms.” The Bicchu-Yagura turret on the southeast side of the castle tower has been restored and is open to the public.

A splendid spot for admiring fireflies. You can walk to this place from the Yungo Onsen lodging facilities.
In early summer, you can revel in the scenery of Genji fireflies (Luciola cruciata) and Heike fireflies (Luciola lateralis) dancing wildly in the air.

“Terraced rice fields” refer to Japan’s historic rice fields, which were created in the manner of steps on inclines similar to mountainous regions.
The best time to visit them is in spring during the rice-planting period or the harvesting period, which is August–September. Please enjoy Japan’s rural landscape.

Ohyama Observation Deck is five minutes from Yunogo Onsen by car and is famous for its mystical view, where a sea of clouds is formed before your eyes.
You can see this view early in the morning from late autumn to winter.

Ohyama Hydrangea Road

This mountain path that continues for approximately 2.5 km to the top is arranged as a “hydrangea road,” where around 3,000 hydrangeas of four different species have been planted. It is recommended to stroll down the path while admiring the hydrangeas from mid-June to mid-July (the flowering period may differ due to the weather).

A giant automaton clock with a height of 7.9 m and a width of 4.3 m.
Between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm, the upper part of the clock opens up for 4 minutes every time the clock reaches a new hour, and a giant monument appears.
